A lot of people are shocked when I tell them what I've done in life thus far. I had most of my bucket-list knocked out by the age of 23 and had to start adding to it so I had new adventures and things to do on down the road in life.
When I was younger I was always jumping ramps with whatever I could find that had wheels stuck to it (skateboards, bikes, roller-blades, you name it!). Constantly coming in from outside with another scrap or gash somewhere on my body. I used to have my friends lay down and line up in between the launch and landing ramp. This quickly became a game with all of us to see who could jump over more bodies and move the ramps further and further apart from each other. I couldn't get over the rush of adrenaline that I would get when I would do crazy stuff.
A little later in life I really got into skateboarding for years on end. That played a HUGE part in my life and where I met most of my friends from High School. I had a lot of fun but then I felt like I hit a stand still in progression with my skating. I started getting into climbing stuff when I was in public. I was constantly jumping fences, climbing over barbwire, climbing up poles to get to additional heights or scaling buildings to get onto rooftops. I started shooting photography around the same time I started climbing the streets and soon decided I wanted to shoot street with the way I moved around the city.
I climbed and shot street for awhile in my life and loved every moment of it! But soon again, I felt like I needed something else to push the limits. My mom one year for my birthday got me a gift to go tandem skydiving. I was literally speechless when I got back down to where my mom was. All I knew is I had to do this MORE!! I ended up taking classes to become a licensed skydiver. This is when the true adrenaline junkie in me really appeared and I couldn't get enough of it! I jumped around 38 times (all solo) within the next 6 months of my life. This was literally the best time of my life!
Skydiving is a VERY expensive sport/hobby to pursue. So, after about 6 months I ran out of money and ended up going to college for my bachelors in Game Design. I got done with college and really missed all of the adrenaline activities I used to do. I started rock climbing (bouldering) at indoor gyms and fell in love with it. I've been doing that since and that's where I'm at in life. I would love to get back into skydiving again, but I know that'll happen on down the road in good timing.
WHY AM I WRITING THIS??
I get a lot of people that always ask how I get into the things I've done in life. My biggest thing is you can literally do whatever you want in life. Most people will make excuses that they don't have money or don't have time for fun/adventures in their life. You always have time to make for things that you enjoy or want to try out! Most people will just be too lazy and sit on their ass all day instead of getting up and enjoying life. All I'm saying is, if you want to do something new find a way to do it, even if you don't like it at least you tried it and experienced that adventure.
This is one of my favorite pictures from skydiving! I was jumping (literally jumping) out of planes with some friends and this was one of the best times I've had in my life so far. And yes I'm the one with my ass in the air haha. Go out and live life man!
